How Kosher Travel Info Came About...
My company sends me for a week
to Düsseldorf, Germany. Oh boy… They provided me with the best hotel
accommodations. But where will I Daven? Get Kosher Food?
In the end I traveled every day to Köln (Cologne / Koeln) to eat. The
synagogue in Köln had a restaurant and catering hall adjoined to the shul. I
was not quite sure about the standards of Kashrus there so I only ate
vegetarian or fish dishes. The cook had an old Yiddish Bubba (Jewish
Grandmother) from Hungary for a helper who spoke Yiddish (not German) and
she was so happy to find somebody originating from her country that she
cooked specially for me! (Both of my parents families originate from
Hungary.) She took out every day from the freezer whole fish with the scales
and all, cleaned and prepared them for me. You won't believe what great
dishes she made out of fish every day. Of course she got a very special nice
tip on my last meal.
Then my company sends me for two week to Chicago, IL. Thinks were much
easier their finding kosher food and orthodox Minyunim daily. However, my
staff and myself still had to do lots of home work so that I can Daven and
Eat in my busy schedule.
My next travel was deep in the countryside of Tennessee, a two hour drive
from the airport in Knoxville. Now go find Kosher Food or an Orthodox Minyan
in the area (we didn’t).
That’s when I realized there must be a better way! And this is how Kosher
Travel Info was born…

Where can I find a Orthodox
